Job Description:
Disruption of illegal hunt activities leading to protection of wildlife.
Attributes & Skills needed
Hunt Saboteur :
Sense of humour
Love of animals and wildlife
Passionate against animal cruelty
Ability to work on own initiative
Need to be thick skinned & remain calm
Often ‘customer’ facing so good communication skills (of all types) useful
Lone worker safety skills valuable (free training offered )
Senior Operational Field Sabs - Additional Skills needed :
Full understanding of hunt etiquette and tactics, ability to rate hounds, Voice calls to control hounds , use of whip ,horn and other calling devices, ability to annoy and irritate the hunt…. :) ..…knowledge and use of personal safety body cam - (Free training offered)
Also useful:
be a little mad and fearless…
have a high level of fitness
ability to work in all weathers
Self defence skills (free training offered)
Hours/ Days worked : Most weekends some weekdays, some early starts.
Pay and conditions: no pay, work in all weathers. Sometimes another sab gives you free food.
Benefits : senses of satisfaction and smugness when hunt disrupted and furry creatures saved.
